Putting on makeup is fun. Cleaning your tools…not so fun. However, cleaning your makeup tools is an important step to achieving a flawless makeup look and to care for your skin (have a look at my article on reasons your makeup is breaking you out here (link). Repeat after me: “the cleaner the makeup tool, the closer we are to a flawless beat”. YES!!
With this blog post I’ll be sharing the easiest way to clean your makeup sponges:
STEP 1: MASON JASON
Get an empty mason jar (with a lid)
STEP 2: DISH SOAP
Put in a few drops of liquid soap and warm water into the mason jar
STEP 3: SOAK
Place your sponges into the mason jar with water. Note: your sponges will soak up a lot of the water.
STEP 4: OVERNIGHT
Leave the brushes to soak overnight or for a few days (the longer the better).
STEP 5: RINSE
Rinse your sponges under clean water. If you find that there are still stains, take a bar of soap, rub the sponge onto it and rinse it again until it’s clean.
STEP 6: DRY
Leave your brushes outside to air dry.
